Born and raised in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Gustave discovered his love for the fashion industry at the young age of six, where he styled and created clothes for his sister’s dolls. His mother and sister who worked in the industry as a devoted fashion designer and taught Gustave how to sew at the age of eight and this heavily influenced him.
Since then, Gustave has pursued his dream as an international and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Apparel & Design from the Tshwane University of Technology. Gustave worked for top fashion houses from South Africa and gained enough experience to start his own fashion line and when the opportunity was given to him to start his fashion line, he did not hesitate and started his own couture brand called GUSTAVO APITI COUTURE. In 2013, Gustave immigrated to the states and began working for Luly Yang Couture and Nordstrom in Seattle, Washington. At the end of 2014, he began working on his U.S. debut as an independent designer. In july 2016 Gustave official launched his couture line at the Sheraton hotel in the U.S.A and showcased his beautiful collection at different runway show around the states like NY fashion week, fashionxt week, seattle fashion week, car and couture show etc…
